Before you get started
Verify you have everything needed before beginning installation: HomeFi/ProFi Outdoor unit, power cord, mounting hardware, and a smartphone with the eero app installed and your wifi network already set up.
1. Add an Outdoor eero
Open the eero app. Tap the + icon in the top-right corner, choose Outdoor eero. Tap Next and follow the prompts.
2. Choose the best location
Follow the placement guidance in the app before mounting the unit. For the strongest coverage:
- Ensure the Outdoor unit is within 25-30 ft from your inside HomeFi/ProFi unit with no obstructions (trees, bushes, etc.) and within 15 ft of a waterproof power outlet.
- Follow the in-app placement recommendations before continuing.
3. Power on the Outdoor unit
Connect the Outdoor unit to power as instructed in the app.
Once powered, wait for the LED to begin blinking blue, indicating the device is ready to be added to your network.
4. Connect to your network
The eero app will automatically search for the Outdoor unit.
After it is detected:
- Allow the app to test the WiFi connection.
- Confirm or choose the installation location (for example: Patio, Deck, Backyard, Garage).
5. Mount and finish setup
Select the installation surface when prompted.
The app will display the required tools and guide you through mounting the Outdoor unit securely.
After installation is complete, tap Finish Setup. Your Outdoor device is now ready to extend WiFi coverage outdoors.
