Before you get started
Locate your Fiber/PON modem. This device is wall-mounted near where the fiber enters your home.
Before continuing, make sure you have your router or HomeFi/ProFi (eero) device, Ethernet cable, and power adapter for your router/HomeFi/ProFi unit.
1. Confirm your Fiber/PON modem is ready
Verify your Fiber/PON modem is powered on and connected.
Make sure:
The power cord is plugged in.
The fiber cable is securely connected to the WAN port.
The following indicator lights are solid green:

Solid green lights indicate your fiber connection is active and ready for installation.
2. Connect your router or HomeFi/ProFi device
If you're replacing an existing router, unplug it from the Fiber/PON modem first.
Using the supplied Ethernet cable:
- Connect one end to the Ethernet port on the Fiber/PON modem.
- Connect the other end to the Internet/WAN port on your router or HomeFi/ProFi device.
3. Power on your router or HomeFi/ProFi device
Plug your router or main HomeFi/ProFi device into a power outlet.
Allow a few minutes for the device to fully start up before continuing.
4. Complete your WiFi setup
Using HomeFi/ProFi?
Follow the HomeFi/ProFi setup instructions:
- Download the eero app.
- Create or sign in to your account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your network.
- Choose your WiFi network name and password.
- Add additional eero devices if included.
Using your own router?
Follow the manufacturer's setup instructions to finish configuring your WiFi network.
5. Test your connection
Connect your personal device to your new WiFi network (or directly using Ethernet). Open a web browser and visit a website to confirm your internet connection is working.
