Spread the Warmth 2025: A Year of Warmth, Connection, and Community Impact
Eight Years of Making a Difference
For eight years, Blue Ridge has partnered with local nonprofit organizations—including the YMCA, Valley Youth Initiative, and area social service agencies—across Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania to provide essential winter clothing. Spread the Warmth supplies coats, hats, scarves, and gloves to help children stay warm during Pennsylvania’s cold winters.
In November, Blue Ridge employees from multiple locations and departments came together to sort the coats by size, gender, and distribution site to ensure donations were delivered efficiently to community partners.
In 2025, Blue Ridge continued its commitment by donating a new winter coat for customers who added or upgraded their internet service. This allowed customers to play a direct role in supporting their communities and helped the initiative continue to grow, reaching more families across the region since its launch in 2018.
Exceeding Expectations
“This year’s Spread the Warmth initiative exceeded all expectations, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the incredible support from our customers, community partners, and employees who make this effort successful year after year,” said Mark Masenheimer, Vice President of Operations at Blue Ridge. “In addition to donating coats, we were proud to provide monetary contributions to charities throughout our service area. Supporting the communities we serve is at the heart of what we do. Spread the Warmth is more than an initiative—it’s a promise to help families stay warm and connected.”
Community Voices
The true impact of Spread the Warmth is best reflected through the voices of the organizations and leaders working directly with families in our communities.
“I enjoyed meeting your team. That event was well run. The coats looked great and the children were thrilled.”

“Thank you for doing this for our program. PSFC can’t thank Blue Ridge enough for keeping our little ones warm,” said Nicole Rau, PSFC Family Engagement Specialist.
“Blue Ridge has been a cherished community partner to Ephrata Area Social Services for many years. The Spread the Warmth event is just one of many examples of how collaboration makes our community stronger,” said Casey Ellis, Executive Director of Ephrata Area Social Services.
“Thank you for supporting the Greater Carbondale YMCA’s early learners by helping them stay warm this winter. With the generosity of Blue Ridge Communications, it reminds our children that their community believes in them,” said James Wiggins, Senior Programs and Special Events Director.
More Than a Campaign
Spread the Warmth is one of Blue Ridge Communications’ most impactful community initiatives, bringing together employees, customers, and nonprofit partners to make a meaningful difference. Beyond coats and donations, the campaign strengthens relationships and highlights the power of community collaboration.
This initiative is just one of many ways Blue Ridge continues to invest in the communities it serves, creating connections that go far beyond internet service. To learn more about Blue Ridge Communications and its community efforts, visit https://www.brctv.com/blog/community.
