If there is a SATA port on the back panel of the DVR set top, you can connect it to a SATA drive to increase the storage capacity for your favorite shows. If your DVR does not have a SATA port, simply call your local Blue Ridge office and make arrangements to swap the set top with one that does. Simply follow these steps to increase your DVR storage space:
- Purchase a SATA drive. We recommend a model by Kanguru or Western Digital. PLEASE NOTE: our testing confirms that the drive should be 750 GB or less for it to work with our set tops.
- Plug the SATA drive into the back of the DVR set top. A pop-up menu will appear asking you to format the drive. You must format the drive for it to work. SATA drives are designed to be formatted each time you plug it into a new DVR set top or computer. Doing so will completely wipe out anything stored on the SATA drive.
